Star Trek Into Darkness mini review #LiveLongAndProsper

There have been some really good films out at the moment and I have been to see a few! I will try to not say too many spoilers!!

Star Trek Into Darkness is a sequel to the 2009 Star Trek film starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. I have not been a big fan of Star Trek, I remember that when I was younger it was on TV and I watched bits but I never really got into it. This sort of changed when a friend of mine got me to watch the 2009 film directed by JJ Abrams and I really rather enjoyed myself! And Chris Pine wasn't bad to look at too!
Anyway onto Into Darkness!
So this film opens with the crew of the USS Enterprise on a mission to prevent a volcano erupting and then I was a little distracted as Chris Pine and Karl Urban suddenly dove of a cliff to escape the natives and go back aboard the Enterprise which was at the bottom of the ocean. Cue music and the Enterprise rising from the ocean!!!
The main bulk shall we say of the movie revolves around the capture of a bad man played by Benedict Cumberbatch (A another reason to see this film!) I really enjoyed the first film and looked forward to this one and I was not disappointed! It was fast paced and full of action and the odd heart wrenching moments. I think the cast of this film are amazing; Chris Pine is a really epic Captain Kirk, a slightly different side to William Shatner, as for Zachary as Spock I really enjoy watching him I thought he was brilliant when he was in American Horror Story. How can I not mention Simon Pegg in this?! Simon Pegg is....Simon Pegg, if you haven't seen any of his work like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz you must have been living under a rock! Pegg as Scotty is perfect casting as is Karl Urban as McCoy.
I saw the film in IMAX 3D which was in itself amazing, it felt like you were actually there! This is the sort of film 3D is made for!
This film, in my opinion, is great for Trekkies and non Trekkies alike. With through backs to previous films and episodes throughout and quirky dialogue mixed with action I can not recommend this film enough!

So, to try and intense you, here is the trailer!

Monthly Favourites #April

Hello Lovelies!

It's that time again! Doesn't the month just fly by? Let's see what has been loved during the month of April!

First of all it is the Benefit Skincare which I spoke about briefly in my haul post  and has mini's of most of the Benefit skincare range and was only about £12.50! Check out their skincare range here

In particular I have been loving 2 products, the It's Potent eye cream which I have a full size of and the Total Moisture face cream

I love the eye cream and rave about it and it helps brighten my under eyes and keep the skin moisturised which was needed after my holiday! Due to sun and freezing cold wind I got a little sunburnt (!?!) and very dry skin it was actually quite sore that after the first day in Paris I couldn't put concealer on because my skin had become so dry and sensitive! This little cream helped my under eye area but my skin is only just now becoming less dry. I took my face emulsion with me but my skin just soaked it up instantly and was like ' GIVE ME MORE' and it didn't seem to help me! So when I got back I happened upon this set and the lady at the counter straight away sat me down and was like your skin is really dry try this it can be used as a day or a night cream. She put some on and although my skin was still a little dry it was ten million times better. It is a thinker consistency than the emulsion and I have been using it every day since and my skin is almost back to where it was! Thanks Benefit :)

Another Benefit product I have been loving is their plush gloss in Coralista which I got in my go tropiCORAL set. It is a sheer coral lipgloss and has the most amazing scent its kind of fruity and summery! I am bad at descriptions! I have kept this in the pocket of my work jacket and been using it as a quick wash of colour on the lips. It wears well, doesn't dry out my lips and wears off nicely! the full size one is £14.50

Now for some non beauty favourites of the month!

Dara O Briain Craic Dealer is a recording of his newest standup on his last tour in 2012. This is actually my Dad's and we watched it together and there were moments where we had to pause the DVD because we were struggling to breathe through all the laughter. I love Dara, he is one of my favourite comedians (along with Peter Kay who I saw perform in the producers and Eddie Izzard who I saw during his Striped tour and who I am going to see on his Force Majore tour!!!) Click here to see a clip of him in action!

This CD I mentioned in my second holiday haul post and has been in my car playing all month! I love this show to pieces and adore the film I can not wait for it to come out on DVD. I already had the highlights but I had to have this too!!

My most watched YouTube video has been this one. Click above to view it. It is basically a 4 hour long video of Disney Songs and has been getting me through my University work and prompted me to add more songs to my current Disney playlist on iTunes! If you are a Disney fan like me give it a listen its has songs from Snow White up until the newer ones (I think the newest it goes up to is Toy Story 2)

So that has been my April Favourites! What have you been loving?

Big Haul #Haultastic

Hello Lovelies!

Yes another haul however before I went away I did some shopping and didn't share it so it looks like May is the month of haul posts!

So during the past few months I have done bits of shopping here and there and think that it is time to share them in a big haul :) These are in no real order and some have been waiting to be blogged about for months and months! Let's get started!!

Now I love me a bit of Benefit! And I have tried some of their skincare range and it even made it to my January Favourites and I really enjoyed using them. I was just passing the Benefit stand and spotted this little  set and was only £12.50 I think don't hold me to that as I can't find it on their website! but you can find all the products from the skincare range here . At such a low price I decided to give it a go as full size products are expensive and this is also good for travelling.

Ok. I caved, big time. This is the Urban Decay Glinda Palate from their Oz The Great and The Powerful collection which can be seen here and is £35 and even I thought that was a bit pricey but I caved when there was one of those massive beauty sales on so I thought why not! Just look at it. It is so pretty. I love Urban Decay and oh yeah it has Disney written on the front and it is Michelle Williams Make-up! In the set which I actually place on my wishlist ages ago with a massive description, there are 6  full size eye shadows in new colours and 2 of which are duo shadows so you are getting 8 shadows! There is also a saturated lip colour pencil in Glinda and 24/7 liner in Rockstar all in a lovely palette with a card to help you recreate the look!

Top - Tornado, Aura, Magic
Bottom - Illusion, Oz, South

This is another product off my wishlist! It is the Benefit go tropiCORAL set and is £22.50 which can be seen here

The set contains a mini version of: Cha Cha tint, High Beam, Coralista blush and plush gloss. I love Benefit products and really can't wait to try them out! I already have tried high beam and love it to pieces!

From top to bottom: Cha Cha tint, high beam, coralista blush and coralista plush gloss

Oh well, more Oz....not really that surprising is it?? I really like OPI polishes I have 2 from their James Bond Collection which I mentioned in my January Favourites and when I saw these I was like a moth to the flame! I had again written about them in my wishlist! OPI brought out a collection at the same time as the film was released, you can check out the collection here and this set is around £13 which is pretty steep but I am a clever devil and found it at a beauty whole sale place for less! This set includes the 3 I really wanted to try and another one! The colours are: I Theodora You which is like a baby pink, Don't burst my bubble is a lighter pink, Glints of Glinda which is like a peachy tone nude and What wizadry is this? which is a matt gold deep shimmer. I am so excited to try these!!

Something a little less exciting is this wash and mask 2 in 1 from Neutrogena. I love my face was from them and have been looking for a good mask and as this was on offer at Asda for £2  I decided to pick it up, I will let you know how I fair with it!

OOOOOO look at the pretty lip colours!!!

I picked up a few lip products, the top swatch is the Max Factor lipstick in 825 Pink Brandy is a nice pink toned coral shade and feels really soft on the skin with good colour pay off. The next product is a Topshop lipstick in Macaroon and is slightly more pink than the max factor coral and gives a more matte finish. I love this colour and can't wait to wear it! Next is a gloss I thought would pair nicely with either of them and is Bourjous effect 3D lipgloss in the colour 52, can't seem to find an actual name and is a lovely soft peach coral, it looks quite orange in the packaging and has a hint of shimmer through it. Finally I picked up one of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers in Luna. I had read many reviews on them and decided to see what the hype was about and ventured out of my comfort zone of nude lips and got this orange/peachy colour. Look at the colour payoff in the swatch!.

Products ranged from £5-£8

Hope you enjoyed my 'little' Haul!

Holiday Haul #2

Hello Lovelies!!

Before I start the title's of my posts don't seem to want to appear unless I add a # so apologies for the # and if anyone knows how to fix it please comment below and I will be eternally grateful, any way on with the post!

So my last post was my haul from France on my recent holiday and today I thought I would share my haul form London.

I didn't do a lot of shopping in London, we didn't have a lot of time to really spend shopping I just remember walking all over. A lot!

Lets start with the 2 things at the top of the picture, 2 keyrings! (I swear I am a keyring junkie...) both of these were from Forbidden Planet which is a shop I love when we go down to London. The first keyring is a Big Bang Theory keyring and says 'BAZINGA!' which is Sheldon's catch phrase almost and was £3. If you do not know what Big Bang Theory is you have potentially been living under a rock for the past 6 years and I suggest you go on YouTube and look at some videos! The next Keyring (which is now on my work keys) is Captain America's shield. I do love a bit of Captain America and was £1.99 and It just happened to appear in my basket....I do not know how it happened.... :)

The bottom to items are edible! Yummy! the bottom left item is just a rather massive bag of tuck shop sweets which I got from Harrods. Harrods has been done up on the inside and they had a new sweet shop on one of the floors and the staff were wandering round with trays of sweets going 'Would you like one?' Who would say no!?! Anyway I can't remember how much this was I will try and find out for you and it jst contains some of my favourite sweets from when I was little. The last item in that section is my M&M's. They are pink, purple and teal. And Peanut. HEAVEN. I got these from the M&M World shop in Leicester Square and I want to go back. They were about £5 it was like a pick and mix stand for just M&M's and they tasted amazing :)

As per the tradition for London trips, we went to catch a show this time it was Wicked (which was wicked!) and I picked up the souvenir programme for £8 and a keyring of the witch hat (yes another one, this is on my car keys write now) I always try to get a programme when I see a show for memories and to try and get the cast to sign, and oh would you look at that I got it signed :)

I also spotted this t-shirt which says I <3 Oz and I have been a little Oz junkie recently (thanks very much Disney!) and I love the colour purple so it was a must and was £20.

You can check out all of the Wicked merchandise here for UK and here for US

While walking down Shaftesbury Ave from Forbidden Planet I stumbled across a shop called Fopp which is owned by HMV I think (well I definitely think as when I googled for a link it took me to HMV) and there was something I was desperate to get

Yes. I already have the highlights but this, this is the WHOLE MASSIVE BEAUTIFUL soundtrack with 2 discs and lots more songs. (and was £13) I refrained from buying this when it came out which was very difficult for me and I made a deal that if I had money after Disneyland i would get it.

As a fan of the show and the film it was a given I had to own this and Samantha Barks, Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter alone are a good enough reason for me to own this bad boy. This has been on in my car since I bought it, my favourite songs are: Stars (it is my favourite from the show), I dreamed a dream, Master of the House, A Heart Full of Love, On My Own (Samantha Barks you just simply rock in my opinion), one day more, Do you hear the people sing?, bring him home, The final battle and Javert's suicide. I should of just said The whole soundtrack is my favourite........

Anyway, that concludes my holiday shopping!! Hope you have enjoyed my holiday posts and thank you for sticking with them if you have made it this far!!
